Protecting Your Reservoir & Equipment from the Risks of Microbial Contamination

The 4.5 hours course will cover aspects related to the potential sources of contamination during drilling, water flooding and workovers including optimal microbial sampling points and analyzation techniques for a comprehensive field audit plan. In this context the course will give an insight in the following topics:

• How do microbes get into my operations and what damage can they do.
• Microbial detection methods and selecting KPIs for monitoring.
• Overview of European Biocidal Product Regulation (BPR)
• Strengths and weaknesses of biocides and selecting the right biocide for your application.
• Microbial control risk assessment and mitigation including case studies.

The second part of the course will be discussing cases and field experiences.
