Robert has more than 20 years’ experience from the survey and seismic industry. During the last 8 years, he has managed Fugro’s Geophysical Service Line here in Norway. He holds a M.Sc. in GIS and Mapping science from NMBU and has a passionate interest in GeoData, Visualization and Deep Learning.

Ludovic Bazin
Exail SAS
After a survey & geomatic degree, Bazin worked 20 years in the Seismic for CGG & Seabed Geosolutions in various Positions, first offshore as Land Surveyor and then Navigator / Chief Navigator on Shallow Water and OBC acquisition. He joined the back office as Navigation Field application Engineer (Marine Streamer acquisition), and finally as Navigation & Positioning Technical Manager (OBC and Node seabed acquisition). He then moved for 7 years to SBG Systems as Technical Support Director, before joining Exail 3 years ago as Subsea Solutions Manager.

Pelle Aslak Boye
Green-Bay
Pelle Boye is educated in Oceanography and GIS at University of Tromsø, University in Bergen, and USN.
He primarily work with recording ghost fishing gear with ROVs, but works also with GIS/navigation programs/registration and development/improvement of equipment and methods.

Nils Haktor Bua

Nils Haktor has a master's degree in marine engineering from NTNU with a specialization in marine cybernetics. Since 2016, he has worked at the Norwegian Maritime Directorate, most of the time following up on new technology projects with a focus on autonomy/automation.
Since January 2023, he has been head of Norwegian Maritime Authority section for New Maritime Technology, which was established at that time. The section Nils Haktor is responsible for following projects on automation and new fuels and ensuring that such technologies are introduced in a safe manner, while also being a point of contact for the industry when introducing new technology on vessels.

Dino Dragun

Dino is the CEO and founder of Hidrocibalae, a marine geophysical data centre, with over ten years of experience in the offshore industry, covering geophysical surveys to offshore construction projects. He holds a Master’s degree in Geodesy and Geoinformatics.
Dinos professional approach focuses on continually seeking advancements in offshore data processing solutions and management.

Nicolien Haasbroek

Nicolien has master degree in Geodesy of the University of Delft, the Netherlands. Ever since she moved to Norway, for more than 25 years ago, she has been working with Hydrography in several aspects; Data processing, Chart production, Data management, Oceanography. She is involved in the procurement of hydrographical survey in the Mareano project. She leads the pilotproject in the Green Shipping Program to develop uniform green criteria for the procurement of maritime services related to seabed surveying. And she is interim head of the oceanography section.

Per Espen Hagen
Kongsberg Discovery
Per Espen Hagen received his MSc degree in Electronics Engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) in 1989. After graduation, he was employed as a Scientist at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI). From 1994, Hagen was a member of the HUGIN AUV development team, from 1999 Project Manager for the AUV and SAS related research at FFI. In 2008, Hagen moved to Kongsberg Maritime/Kongsberg Discovery where is currently Product Manager for Long Range AUVs.

Jon Oddvar Hellevang
GCE Ocean Technology
Jon has 20 years of experience from R&D in the intersection between industry and applied research. He has a master's degree in physical electronics from NTNU. He has previously worked with subsea controls at TechnipFMC (formerly FMC Technologies) and applied research within measurement science at CMR/NORCE.
Jon has been involved in different roles and engagements in GCE Ocean Technology since 2007 and full time as R&D Manager since 2022. Jon main responsibility is establishing new joint R&D projects within the cluster.

Arne Johan Husebø Hestnes

Arne John has a Master of Technology from Norwegian University of Technology and science within the field of hardware accelerated machine learning. Experience in software systems for Robotics, Finance,Telecom and Military applications. Currently working as Director Digital Technology at Kongsberg Discovery with a desication towards ocean sensing, robotics and connected software systems.

Helga Hamre Jakobsen
Fugro
Helga brings nearly 20 years of experience in the offshore survey industry. During the past four years, she has managed the GIS team in Fugro Norway, in addition to being the Regional Enterprise GIS Manager in Europe. She holds an M.Sc. in Oceanography from the University of Southampton and is passionate about data management, automation, and visualization.

Frederic Klimm

Frederic studied (Marine) Geosciences in Bremen (DE) and Utrecht (NL). Further Frederic worked for over 5 years in a survey company, key tasks: conducting UXO Surveys, Data Analysis of UXO data, Survey Project Management. Now working in Vattenfall since end of 2023 as Geophysicist with an emphasis on UXO Survey Management.

Stig-Morten Knutsen

Stig-Morten has a PhD in geology from UiT the Arctic University of Tromsø. He has more than 30 years’ experience with oil and gas in Norway and from several international assignments. He is currently Chief Geologist with the Norwegian Offshore Directorate, working with seabed-minerals, CCS, oil & gas resource management, environmental management plans and offshore wind. Stig-Morten is Vice Chair of the Bureau of Expert Group on Resource Management (EGRM at UNECE - United Nations Economic Commission for Europe).

Martin Kristensen

Martin is VP Hardware Development at EIVA a/s and has been with the company since 2012. Martin has been involved in development of EIVA’s hardware platforms such as ScanFish ROTVs and Toughboy data buoys for offshore wind site monitoring and more, as well as tailoring these sensor platforms to customer specifications. Martin leads a team of engineers (mechanical, mechatronic, electronic and more), together applying input from customers into hardware solutions, as well as working with EIVA’s software team to create streamlined total solutions. EIVA’s most recent development projects, created under Martin’s guidance, include the ViperFish ROTV, which can be towed by USV to enable fully autonomous UXO survey setups. Martin has a master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Technical IT from Aarhus University, Denmark.

Martin Ludvigsen
NTNU
Martin is a Professor at the Department of Marine Technology, NTNU. His research interests are within the field of underwater vehicles and its applications. This includes perception and interpretation of cameras and sonar data together with autonomy. Underwater vehicles for marine observation systems, adaptive mission planning for one or more vehicles for ocean column mapping has also been a focus point for his research group.

Dmitry Luzin

Dmitry, a Master of Physics, brings nearly 10 years of experience in subsea oil and gas engineering. He began his career as a mechanical design engineer and advanced to lead the subsea controls and power distribution department. Since joining Develogic, Dmitry has been dedicated to project delivery and business development, specializing in subsea environmental monitoring and acoustic communication technology.

Thomas has a solid track record in marine drone technology, specializing in AUVs. As CEO of Eelume since 2023, he leads groundbreaking innovations. Previously, he spent 15 years at Kongsberg Discovery in several key leadership roles, driving advancements within the Hugin AUV division to enhance ocean data quality, safety, and cost efficiency—all while maintaining a strong commercial and financial track record.

Russell John Small

Russel graduated in 1993 with a BSc with Honours in Topographic Science from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Russel worked offshore for over 20 years as a surveyor on survey and construction vessels, before coming onshore as a Project Surveyor. Russel has currently the position of a Principal Surveyor at DeepOcean based in Haugesund where he leads the technical discipline of survey.

Nick Swift
Wavefront Systems
Nick started his career in marine technology straight from leaving school, working on submarine sonars. He then studied Physics at University before continuing his career in the maritime industry working on seismic vessels. He has spent the last 30 delivering solutions for underwater positioning, communications and imaging. Nick is now a business development consultant for some of the Covelya group companies, including Sonardyne and Wavefront Systems, focusing on global Ocean Science markets. The presentation will explore the use of automatic feature recognition using a multi-aperture sonar on AUVS to enable fully autonomous underwater operations.
