The Venue
We are looking forward to seeing you in Trondheim in the summer of 2018!
Trondheim is located in mid Norway, where the river Nidelva meets Trondheim Fjord. The city was founded by Viking King Olav Tryggvason in AD 997, and occupies a special place in Norwegian culture and history. Trondheim was the nation's first capital, and continues to be the coronation city where Norway's kings from Harald Hårfagre (872–933) to King Harald V (1991 -) have been hailed, crowned and blessed.
It is a cosy larger town with a small town feeling, hosting a population of close to 200 000 inhabitants. With the largest university in Norway, Trondheim is buzzing with student life, restaurants and clubs. In its history, the city was and is now again a popular destination for pilgrimages. Trondheim is also an ecclesiastical centre, a regional capital, a centre for industry and commerce, and an important education and research centre.
Trondheim has an international airport, Trondheim Airport, Værnes, situated in Stjørdal, which is Norway's fourth largest airport in terms of passenger traffic. Værnes has non-stop connections to cities such as London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Berlin and Copenhagen.
