Hotel Victoria Stavanger, STAVANGER

Hotel Victoria

The venerable Hotel Victoria first opened in July 1900. Here you can enjoy a glass of champagne under the same chandelier as King Haakon VII and Queen Maud did on their 1906 voyage. Or how about enjoying the same view from your hotel room as the King of Siam did in 1907? The hotel has a fantastic location right by Vågen in the city center, with everything Stavanger has to offer in terms of culture, restaurants and city life right outside the door.

Parts of the hotel are listed and are an important part of Stavanger's architecture and history. Visit the hotel website here.

10th of October at 7 pm
Rosenkildehuset.
Address: Strandkaien 6

The Rosenkilde House, one of the city's largest and finest mansions, was built in the Louis Seize style, with a central axis marked by the house's elegant monumental staircase. Construction began in 1812 for the merchant and member of the Norwegian Constituent Assembly, Peder Valentin Rosenkilde. In 1812, Peder Valentin Rosenkilde demolished the family's old merchant house to build a new one. When the current Rosenkilde House was completed just over a year later, it was appraised higher than the Stavanger Cathedral itself.

It is now run by the Stavanger Business Association.
