Call for abstract

The abstract selection process
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the nominated Technical Committee of industry experts for content and possible inclusion in the workshop program.

Priority is given to papers being presented by operators, or which include operational experiences. Papers with practical content and field case experience will be of special interest to maintain and reflect the intention of the workshop: to give a picture of the industry and how to innovate for the future.

Topics of interest
The following topics of interest are pinpointed by the Technical Committee:

•Field experience

•Metering concepts, including marginal fields, late phase, and virtual metering

•Subsea measurement challenges

•Custody transfer metering and allocation metering challenges

•Environmental measurements

•Multi-phase and wet gas measurement challenges

•Oil metering with high water content

•Heavy oil: single-phase and multi-phase metering

•Liquefied natural gas (LNG)

•Multi-phase and single-phase sampling and analysis

•On-line analysis, composition, H2S, H2O, CO2, H2, dew point, etc

•Meter inline diagnostics, data evaluation and accuracy

•Quality control, calibration, verification, and uncertainty

News on research results, standards and regulations and abstracts containing other relevant industry topics are also very relevant and welcome.

Key dates

Abstract submission: March 1st

Notification of acceptance: Primo May 2025

Final program: Primo June 2025

Submission of technical paper: October 4th

Abstract guidelines

• Maximum 500 words

• Provide a clear background and motivation for the work to be presented

• Provide a clear statement of the objective of the work

• Describe briefly and clearly the technical content

• Give a clear overview of results that will be presented

• Provide contact details for the author and co-authors: name, affiliation, email.

• Indicate preferred format of delivery (oral presentation, or poster)

If your abstract it accepted for oral presentation, the presenting author must attend in person. Video presentation will note be an option. Language is English.

Two options of presentations

1. A full oral presentation is granted 25 minutes on stage, where 5 of these are for Q&A at the end of the presentation. This option is required to deliver a full written paper. All workshop materiel (papers) will be distributed to all delegates prior to the workshop.

2. A poster oral presentation is granted 5 minutes on stage in plenary in a Poster Pitch Session by the principal author. After all posters has been presented, the principal author should be available for discussions by their displayed poster in the poster dedicated area. Materiel required is a one-pager for distribution to all delegates prior to the workshop.

Due to the high number of submitted abstract, some contributors may be invited to present their work in a different form than initially submitted.

Speakers conditions
The speaker of each paper will be granted a reduced fee. (Accommodation is not included).

Paper publication
The Workshop proceedings, including all papers presented at the Workshop, will be available for sale via NEL after the Workshop (www.tuvnel.com).

One year after the Workshop all papers will be made available for free at www.nfogm.no and Petroleum abstracts (University of Tulsa, USA).
