Special Event: Inspiration Day for STEM students at Bergen and Hordaland upper secondary schools

The local Tekna branch in Bergen and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (Høgskulen på Vestlandet) invited STEM teachers and first-year Math 1T students in upper secondary school to Inspiration Day! Everyone who went enjoyed a Andreas Wahl’s STEM Show, inspirational presentations by young “STEM ambassadors”, a free lunchtime meal and interesting stands that offered lots of fun experiments to try.

The Professional Development Committee in Agder sponsored a lecture series over four evenings on topics influencing current educational trends were explored in depth: AI (artificial intelligence), welfare technology/e-health, mechatronics and Big Data.

Special Event: What does the Internet REALLY know about you?

Tekna Young Oslo, Tekna Big Data and Tekna Students invited the public to a panel discussion to try and answer this timely question. During the event, topics such as Big Data, buying and selling data from private actors, IT security, identity theft and digital border defense were illuminated as well.
